Congratulations to Energy Systems Group (ESG) customer Eglin Air Force Base and ESG Federal Account Manager Seth Keller for being selected to receive a 2019 Federal Energy and Water Management Award by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Federal Energy Management Program. The award recognizes outstanding contributions related to energy and water cost savings, optimized energy and water use, and the use of advanced and distributed energy technologies at federal facilities in fiscal year 2018.

In September 2018, ESG was awarded a $32 million energy savings performance contract (ESPC) following a highly competitive selection process facilitated by the Defense Logistics Agency utilizing the U.S. DOE ESPC. Improvements in over 140 buildings included extensive interior and exterior lighting retrofits as well as electrical infrastructure, building envelope, piping insulation, and energy management and controls upgrades. In March 2019, ESG signed the second phase of the ESPC project to further enhance energy resilience at Eglin AFB with a focus on gas and solar generation technologies and building improvements such as combined heat and power, distributed generation, continuous commissioning, and light-emitting diode (LED) retrofits.
