Texico Municipal Schools faced aging and inefficient building systems that compromised student comfort, safety, and learning environments. Failing equipment, single-pane windows, outdated HVAC systems, and limited mechanical cooling made classrooms uncomfortable and energy-intensive. The district needed a solution to modernize facilities, enhance occupant comfort, improve indoor air quality, ensure campus safety, and reduce ongoing operational costs, while staying fiscally responsible for the community.

Innovative Solutions
ESG delivered a comprehensive modernization program for Texico Municipal Schools, upgrading aging systems, improving comfort and safety, and reducing energy use.
Upgraded over 1,800 fixtures to LED with enhanced lighting controls in classrooms to reduce energy consumption, improve lighting quality for learning, and achieve a 60% reduction in lighting system power density.
Replaced 54 single-pane windows with double-pane, intruder-resistant windows to improve energy efficiency, enhance classroom comfort, and increase campus security.
Remediated 33 ft² of air leakage to prevent energy loss, improve indoor air quality, and maintain consistent temperatures.
Replaced 66 swamp coolers with new high-efficiency DX heat pumps to provide reliable mechanical cooling, reduce energy use, and improve student comfort year-round.
New web-accessible HVAC controls to enable centralized monitoring, improve operational efficiency, and ensure consistent classroom temperatures.
Electrical service upgrades to accommodate an expanded HVAC system to safely support new high-efficiency equipment and future-proof campus energy infrastructure.
Fitted HVAC equipment with air purification devices that mitigate pathogens to enhance indoor air quality, promote student and staff health, and reduce the spread of airborne illnesses.
Campus-wide existing building commissioning and tune-up to optimize system performance, extend equipment life, and ensure all upgrades operate as intended.
